Camber Bolts

Stance+ Camber Control

Wheel Camber is the tilt of the tyre as viewed from the front/rear of the car. If the top of the tyres lean toward the centre of the car then you have negative camber. If the top of the tyre tilts out away from the centre of the car then you have positive camber.

Adjusting camber can have a dramatic effect on the cornering ability and handling of your car.

Camber is measured with a caster/camber gauge and is usually easily adjusted with Stance+ camber bolts or Stance+ adjustable upper/lower control arms. Alignment settings should always be done by a professional using a laser alignment machine.

The amount of static camber that you should run should be a result of on road/track testing, and set up. Mild negative camber is recommended for the road, more aggressive settings for track use. A small amount of negative camber will normally improve handling. Remember that poor/excessive camber settings will cause excessive tyre wear. Camber settings set to extremes can also reduce the braking and handling ability of the car. We recommend no more than 0 to -1 degrees (neutral setting) for road, and -1 to -1.5 degrees (track day setting).

Stance+ Camber arm/tie bars

Stance+ adjustable camber arm/tie bars should be fitted by a qualified professional. A laser alignment machine should be used to ensure the camber is set equal on both sides of the car and not excessive for the intended use (road or track). We recommend a neutral setting (0 to -1 degrees) for road use and roughly (-1 to -1.5 degrees) camber for track use. This can be altered and tuned easily via the threaded adjustment section located on the bars.

Never run the camber arms/tie bars outside their recommended parameters of adjustment. Always adjust the threaded bar evenly, one full turn left side, one full turn right side. There should be an equal amount of adjustment thread exposed.
For safety reasons we strongly advise that all our kits are fitted by a qualified vehicle mechanic or trained vehicle technician.

Standard factory mounting bolt torque settings apply. New mounting bolts are recommended.

Fitting: First take a baseline camber reading to determine whether your car needs a positive, or negative camber setting. Raise the vehicle (safely), remove the wheels then remove the top suspension bolt and loosen the bottom bolt. Replace the top factory bolt with the new Stance+ camber bolts. You are now ready to set your camber.

With the large tab on the washer pointing towards the centre of the car this will give you negative camber. With the large tab pointing towards the wheel this will give you positive camber. By loosening the bolt and rotating the inner lobe will give small, but more precise camber adjustment.

When you have found your desired camber setting torque all the bolts back to the factory settings. Road test the vehicle, then re-check the bolt torque settings and camber angle. The bolts may need to be re-torqued. If you need to re-adjust the camber, loosen both bolts and rotate the lobe bolt to fine tune the setting.
